Remembering ANZAC day- art journal.

Hey Scrappin Fans,

Amy here and today I am sharing an art journal page with you that really is all about imagery for me.

Personally I do not have alot of ANZAC photos to scrap, but the day means something to me as my grandfather and great grandfather was part of the wars, so when coming up with something for my 2nd project I wanted to represent what the day meant to me.

I had in my head the words at the going down of the sun, and the lovely doily from the kit reminded me of the sun so I knew it would be on my page. I had an image of the battle fields and the poppies as well in my mind as well, so I grabbed some of the Colour Blast paste in leather and that would represent the dirt of the fields. I used some of the text patterned paper just to add that vintage look as well as the telegram feel families would sadly get back in the wars.

I also added some of the washi from the kit to pop in the poppies to my ‘field’.

I coloured the chipboard piece from the kit and added it plus the tower cut out and hat charm to the centre of the page as a focal image.

I then sprayed some yellow mist in the background at the top to represent the sun and placed my doily in the right corner. I wrote a little quote on another piece of torn patterned paper from our kit.

To finish the page off I used a gold paint pen just to write ANZAC day at the top of my page and the splatter some green ink splatters and then my page was completed.

I felt such a sense of pride completing this page and am really happy with how it came together.

Scrapping Fun DT Share- January Kit- Process Video.

Hey Scrapping Fun Fans,

Amy here with my 2nd and messy creation for January. For this project I created a mixed media layout, full of texture spray and glimmer sprays; what can I say I was in a messy mood.

I used a small square stencil to go with the game/screen theme from my photo, which is of my daughter playing a space type game out at the space station here in Canberra. The ink sprays I used are to make the colours in the patterned papers from the kit pop more and add that they have a gorgeous glimmer it really made an awesome background!

I have also cut strips of patterned paper from the kit and placed them behind and around the photo in the form of the of a square to represent a screen too.

I have used most of the embellishments I had left in the kit to embellishment the layout, using the level up piece as a larger die cut, and the washi and black ribbon as borders around the edge of the papers.

For a full process of how I created this layout click on the link to head to my channel and check out my process video- be sure to like and if you have any questions leave them in the comments.

Scrapping Fun DT share- January 2019 – 12×12 Layout.

Happy New Year Scrapping Fun Peeps!!

Welcome to a brand new year, brand new month and therefore a brand new kit, and for this 1st project of the month I am using a cut file and some mixed media to add to the kit. Now this months kit theme is a gamer type theme and for me we are not big gamers here so I was a little stumped, so I have gone outside the box.

My layout has gone with the colours of the kit and I have used the stars throughout the kit to go with the theme of nightime and sleeping- and wella here is my photo.

My photo is my stepdaughter and daughter in bed with me one weekend when Dad was away for thew weekend and we were having a girls weekend. I have used the stars from the kit to help with the theme of the layout, and then also used the colours from the photo to help bring in the kit.

I have used a star wreath cut file, which I coloured using Jane Davenport Inkcredible Inks in colours similar to those in the pattern papers.

I added a layer a piece of craft foam between the 2 pieces of patterned paper just to add that layer of dimension to the layout.

I have used some of the flairs and ribbon from the kit to embellish the layout as well some from my stash.

Head over to the link below to check out the process video for this layout.

See you later in the month with another project.

Scrapping Fun Kits DT- ‘Our Little Elf’- 12×12 Layout

Hey Scrapping Fans,

I am up with a DT share over on the Scrapping Fun blog today using the beautiful October kit, which is full of Christmas themed goodies- yes I hear you say Christmas but it seems early, trust me I thought that too but oh no it is not!! Plus if you are like me you are scrapping photos from last years Christmas anyway lol.

Scrapping Fun Kits DT- July Embellishment Kit- ‘Wise Little Owl’ .

Hey Scrapping Fun Kits Fans,

I am here with a mixed media page using the owl cut file from this months kit. For my background I have used a pink distress spray stain and sprayed it directly onto my Bazill Marshmallow cardstock.

I layered my photos on both white and black tissue paper to enhance them off the background, add some texture and tie in the colours of the patterned papers I am using to create embellishments for the layout (all that from 2 layers of tissue papers I know lol).
Next up was to play with the beautiful cut file, which I did alter and make slightly larger using my Cameo machine. I decided I really wanted it to be another focal piece on the layout so I sprayed it with a light layer of Colour Blast Shimmer spray in Saffron and dabbed off excess with some paper towel. Once dry I outlined it with a black border just to give it some extra pop!

I then worked on some small embellishment clusters using the patterned papers from the kit and my large heart punch to punch heart shapes as well as my smaller heart punch for small ones. I used stripes of washi from the kit in 2 of the clusters , plus the bird cage charm in one and the paper flowers in the other.

From the cut apart sheet in the kit I used the card that said magic to journal on and stuck it down and just using thickers from my stash created my title.

And that is my layout completed. Keep an eye out for a process video for this over on my channel this week https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl1zJgxJ9Tplhsy8dnkcSrw?

Until next month

Scrapping Fun Kits DT- ‘Love You Always’.

Hey Scrapping Fun Peeps,

Happy beginning of July! I am up today with my 1st design team project for the month for Scrapping Fun Kits using this very cool embellishment kit and I couldn’t resist but use it to scrap a photo of my niece dressed in a Harry Potter inspired onesie that says ” Snuggle this Muggle”.

I knew I wanted to use a bit of mixed media and the colours yellow and black as that’s what came to mind with this magic theme, so I went through my stash of papers to see what jumped at me. I settled on this black paper as being the background paper and decided I would test out some watercolour paper to do some mixed media on.

I used some shimmer spray to colour the paper yellow, once dried I stuck it to the black patterned paper.

I placed a doily behind my photo to add some texture and softness to the page and matted the photo onto a piece of the patterned paper from the kit. I popped it up on some craft foam for a bit of dimension.

I had to use the gorgeous gold foil train washi and decided to place this opposite the photo and then build a little cluster around it using the cat cut apart from the cut apart sheet from the kit plus the gorgeous silver charm in the kit. I then decided to add the tassel in the opposite top right corner just to add a little balance to the cluster in the bottom left.

I wanted to test out the other washis that came in the kit too and did by adding some little strips in the top left and using those to build my title around. I used white foam thickers from my stash for the Love You and then used the beautiful wood veneer in the kit to finish of the title.

To finish off the page I added some enamel dots then for some magocal sparkle added some splatter of gold Heidi Swapp colour shine.

I absolutely adore this layout and the elements in this kit just made it look so beautiful and cute , perfect for my nieces album.

I hope you enjoy your July kits and see you soon with another project.

I also have a process video for this over on my YouTube channel so pop over and check it out – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl1zJgxJ9Tplhsy8dnkcSrw
